Evaluation- Question 7

I feel that I have learnt from doing the preliminary task in to the full product, that firstly i have gained good camera shooting skills, from doing different angle shots, and using different software's along the process. In the beginning i wasn't that familiar with some of the software's i gradually learnt how to use them and felt more comfortable with using them. Also if i were to make home videos, i would most likely use these software's too. As well as when doing the preliminary task i learnt how to do the 180 degree rule, which made it simple for me, as there was a particular scene in the film clip when the victim is talking to her friend, i used this 180 degree rule, that is another skill i learnt, so i believe i have progressed really well in this task.

I also have learnt how to add different tones to the film clip, for example when i wanted to have a black and white scene i learnt how to add the different tone and also learnt how to cut scenes and cut excess stuff that was not needed in the film. My teacher showed me how to import soundtracks and add them onto the film, which made it easy for me, as i have learnt how to import stuff now.

In addition i learnt how to do many other camera shots such as panning shot by using a dolly camera, also by doing shot/reverse shots, as many shots were needed in the film sequence and preliminary task.

So over all, i learnt many techniques from doing this, and will always re-use them, when possible.

Evaluation- Question 6

Here is an image I made on Photoshop showing all the software's and websites i have used for making the film sequence as these software's and websites were needed.
*As you can i have used Adobe Premiere to edit the film sequence onto, and also to add any special effects to make it look better such as fade in, fade out, dissolve, different tones, bright lighting, dim lighting etc.

*Photoshop, Picnik and Taaz were used to edit photos on to make the character look better, and also just to edit my work and put it all together to make it look smart.

*Social network sites such as Twitter and Blogger were used to track down new work that someone may have tweeted or uploaded onto their blogs, i have looked through some to get inspiration and motivation. Also on Twitter people all around the world tweet stuff related to films and such they give links which really helps me and i gain ideas from them. Also i can communicate with other people and ask about their work and how they did it, and what software's did they use.

*I also used YouTube and Vimeo, this was so i could broadcast the opening sequence to the world. Also people leave feedback and improvements which really help, as they are required when you want to achieve something and then you could improve on it.

Evaluation- Question 5

The video was put on YouTube, and within three days we have got 62 views, which is pretty reasonable. Also as you can see below one person has liked the video so far, and have left feedback wanting to see more.

I put the film sequence onto my facebook to gain feedback from friends, and they really enjoyed it, and also gave their suggestions, as you can see above.

I have uploaded the video onto YouTube and  Facebook to see what everyone thinks and to gain feedback and possible improvement ideas. I have uploaded it onto Facebook to see my friends reactions, as it is targeting for that age range *teenagers* so i got their point of view and they enjoyed it. Also uploaded it onto YouTube to see what the world think, and have received a good amount of views in a week.

Also when uploading onto YouTube i described my video as much as possible to make it seem interesting as it is interesting, by doing this on YouTube tags, where you give the description of the film, the title and if any tags required, and also placing it in the right category, mine was thriller. Also these annotations that i have done on the YouTube tags will link into similar films and attract the same audience as they would come across it as it for teenagers.

My annotations of the film are;
Genre-Thriller
Use of Music-Scary RnB Hip Hop Instrumental (link below)
Similarities With Other Movies-Does not have any similarities other than being a thriller psycho film, that's the most similarity there is but different storyline.
Unique Selling Point-We're going to base it on true life story to bring in attention from the targeted audience so they can believe it is real life and it is actually happening.

Evaluation- Question 4

My target audience for my film is teenagers, because i want them to understand stalking is a major and scary thing and is not something to laugh about. So i want them to understand fully by choosing to this film clip, that is the reason they are my tageted audience.

Above is a photograph of what an average teenager is like and what they do on a daily basis, they are not going to one day somehow someone out there could just follow them home, and know everything about their life, and ruin their life without them knowing. So this is another reason on why they would watch the film.

Evaluation- Question 3

For this question i have decided to do the voice over in a written format rather than recording it.

We Psycho Films would distribute this film, as it fits into our category perfectly, it is not too gory, its not too scary, its just perfect, we're looking for a new thriller related stalker film, and you have given us this, which we would absolutely distribute. We are the the best selling and creating for the best 'Thriller Horror Films' in the industry, we're called the ' Psycho Films' for a reason. We would distribute to many other cinemas and rent out these films to them, and also in a couple of months we are going to send them out onto different formats which include: DVD/Blue-Ray/Broadcast/VOD/Internet/Retail/Rental.

Company Name: Psycho Films, because most of the films they have distributed are to with thriller and creepy psycho media productions, therefore i have chosen to name it this. This is the logo for it it goes well with all the story lines and company's name.

This production company is a large company, we sell our products to a film studio  and they either buy or rent films to show on their cinema screens or television studio to show on their television screens. This company also helps with the funding for the production and we accomplish this by doing an emissary by participating in events and distributing their video as such and helping them out.

We have only included the actors that are in the film sequence, The Victim and Her Friend and The Stalker Himself. There are only three main characters therefore there names should be up there only. Also we have put the most convenient job role such 'director' and 'camerawork' and 'lighting' and who done the music only as they have a more important job role.

As well as other films that would be released like this are films from *Brain Damage Films* they released similar films like this, and also they're the second best in the industry, us being first of course. Also big film distributors such as New Line Cinema, Warner Bros, would actually distribute similar videos as they are exceptionally good US film distributors and would bring in a bigger range audience and could deliver to the world. Also Warner Bros are responsible for the Harry Potter film series, its the most highest grossing film series of all time

How we do it is we are an organisation or also another set of organisations can get involved in this process of making a product. They can also service availablitly for the uses or consumption by a business user or consumer. Also we mix the product, we price it and promote it to the world, so this is a genuine great market mix.

Evaluation- Question 2

Click on the image to make it big

This media product represents a youth social group, targeting for teenagers out there whom are getting stalked and need help.

On the left is a character from my movie sequence, she is the victim in the movie, and also she is a rebellion teenager, and on the right is a similar image that i found on the web. There are many similarities, one for example they are both dressed in black, a casual outfit, just to blend in with everything. Another is they both are on the phone, one is texting and the other is talking on the phone. Also they are both teenagers, they tend to be on the phone most often as all teenagers are. As well as they both have huge side bags, they must carry a lot of stuff around, which is most common in girls they like to travel heavy not light for sure. They both have their hair tied up, and a long fringe flying across their face onto one side to show their facial expression. And also they are both wearing scarves, as in my movie the scarf gets stolen by the stalker that is one valuable possession of the victim. The only difference is, my victim doesn't know she's getting stalked and her facial expression doesn't show any sadness, just shows she's too busy texting or she's in a hurry. Where as the other person has a worried look on her face whilst she speaks on the phone to someone else, something may have happened.

Hoodys are commonly known as teenage terrors, most teenagers are stereotyped as being hoodys, and this is a an element that we have added in the video, the stalker is wearing a hoody, giving him a a terrifying persona, so the audience can visualize the aspect of the stalkers 's character that is presented in the film sequence. I got this idea from the film 'Kidulthood' and 'Adulthood' as you can see the above there are images of 'Noel Clarke' in a hoody, as he is the bad guy in the film, i wanted to use this in my film sequence, to show the stalker is the bad guy.

These are things that are mostly similar to teenagers, they're rebellion, always on their phone, wearing hoodys, always worried and so forth.

Evaluation-Question 1

This is my first set of images. These are images from that i have got from the web, which have inspired me. These 9 images show how i have used, developed and challenged forms and conventions of real media products. Above is the frame of the 9 different images, each contains an image from the web and below i have named each one and shown what they represent. I have written about both frames combined together, as they are both similar, at the bottom are the images from my film sequence.
The title of the film first starts of with the film name which we have decided to call 'Victimized'. We have chosen to do this so the audience can get into it straight away. The title font looks spooky and the style of it is unique and different as it has not been used before, as I have constructed the font myself on fonts.com. Also a different font was used with a shadow for the credits to show emphasis and to make it stand out.

The location of the film sequence takes place in a school building, so in the image above is the new version of the school premises in which I have recorded in, but we have recorded in the old premises, i did this because i wanted to show a different side to the school, as in the video it looks grim and spooky, where as the image above makes it look modern and look like an architectural building.

The props that we used were just a car, and above it shows the image of the car that we have used, also the driver from the film sequence has the same car, that is why the image is included there. We chose to have a car as a prop because we wanted to do a pan around the school premises to show how creepy the school can be.

The costumes of the characters the way i wanted them to dress in a particular scene, is to wear casual outfits but dressed all in black, as the genre for this film is 'Thriller' therefore i wanted them to dress in black so they can blend in with the thriller theme and be a part of it.

In the film sequence it shows the genre straight away, you can tell its most likely a psycho creepy film because of the black and white effect that i have used in the beginning by using the software Adobe Premiere, and above i have used a black and white image to show this, as well i have included images of camerawork and photoshop, as i have edited different parts of the video on Photoshop software, and also I have added special effects from photoshop hence why i did this.

The camerawork i have used in the film sequence is mostly long shots, and zooming in and out, also mid length shot was used, when the stalker is following the victim a birds eye shot was used and all the shots that were used made it look as if the Victim was being followed and you can visualize this in the video clip.

Lastly there above is an image of special effects being used such as dinosaurs as they do not exist anymore you could use computer software's and re-build them on the computer screens and include them in films and such. Also above is an image of a magical land and clouds everywhere, it shows how creative these software's can be, and you can almost add in anything and create it. I have used similar effects like this to my film clip such as a smoky black and white effect. Also different lighting's were used specially, as you can see below red lighting was used to show special effects. And i mostly prefer to show the location of the film, and then adding the characters and introduce them with a bang, so you can immediately see something is happening to them and visualize this.

This is my second set of images. These are my own images from my opening sequence. These 9 images show how i have used, developed and challenged forms and conventions of real media products. Above is the frame of the 9 different images, each contains an image from my opening sequence and above i have named each one and shown what they represent.

Final Film Sequence

This is the final version of the film sequence, hope you enjoy watching it.

Editing The Film Sequence

Today I edited everything together, I used the software Adobes Premiere on the Apple Macs, it was straightforward and easy to do. I used different types of effects to make the film clip look spooky as possible, also i changed the tone of some parts of the clip making it look black and white to lower the lighting and make it look creepy as possible. As well as i included the soundtrack, i cut some parts of to fit with scene, and cause tension and suspense. I also included the film credits, the name, who did what they were on the film clip as it was playing.

Shooting The Ciggarette Scene

This is when the stalker flicks out his cigarette after watching Shiggy entering the reception, he flicks it out so he can follow her into the 6th Form area as cigarettes are not allowed on School premises.

Film Names For The Film

These are a few names that we thought of what to maybe call our film. I showed this to my class to get feedback on what they thought about the names, and which sounded the most twisted and cruel and also which name will appeal to them, would they actually go watch it themselves if it was called that. After doing this, we decided to go with the name 'VICTIMIZED' as it was the most popular and most appealing to everyone, this fit the genre well indeed as the victim the girl is getting stalked, therefore the girl is being victimized.

Soundtrack For Title

I have chosen this soundtrack for the opening sequence, as it has a sinister feel to it, it builds up tension and creates the suspense that is needed at the particular moment on the film clip, so i think it is the perfect soundtrack for it.

Clothes and Props

I wanted the victim to be dressed in casual clothes that you would normally wear everyday, but mostly black, and i bought an outfit for her to wear. Also we were glad one of the team members already passed their driving test and we used his care, *Sohail* aka the stalker in the film, we used his car to record some scenes, such as panning around the 6th Form block, and outside of the trees and such and also the ciggarette scene which you will see later on.

Preliminary Task

AS Prelim Task Group 3 from Sidney Stringer on Vimeo.

Above is the video we did for the preliminary task, we had to make a continuity editing shot. It was basically of someone walking through a door, opening and closing it, from different angles including the 180 degree angle rule. I was pleased with outcome. But some parts still need sorting out, which I will do later, to show improvements.

Horror Movie Production Companies

I researched existing movie production companies. I found a different type of Film Company, it is the best selling and creating for the best 'Indie horror films' in the industry, they're called the 'Brain Damage Films'. The name instantly shows that their films are gruesome and are most likely terrifying hence the name 'Brain Damage'. They distribute films world-wide and have all different formats which include: DVD/Blue-Ray/Broadcast/VOD/Internet/Retail/Rental.
Below is a film trailer to one of their movies, i haven chosen to show Autopsy, as it is one of their best selling.

Research

I went to research and went to find out what i could relate with my opening sequence, i found plenty of images and have gathered them onto a moodboard above, showing someone getting stalked, someone about to die, a shadow as the identity is not shown in my film clip, and also an image of blood in case if anything happens. These are mostly related to thriller films, and so i decided to add them into mine with a slight twist.

Inpiration

The trailer and the opening sequence have inspired me, i have looked at many other horror flicks, and they all are pretty gruesome, but this one is the most scariest and creepest film ever. But the inpiration i got what was on how they editted it, some bits were black and white, it had low lighting to give that intense feeling, this i will take and possibly use in my video.

Also i have watched this film in the cinema (the link below) it was one of the scariest film in the century, has left me wordless and has given me a tormented mind, this i have to follow up on for my video.

Making The Storyboard :)

For the pre-production we had to make a storyboard, this was to ensure we know what shots we are going to take on the camera, and how their posture will be, also which location it will be filmed in. Below are images of me working on the storyboard. Adding a bit of colour to brighten up the storyboard, so it tells us a clear story.

Drawing with pencil first. The drink scene, in which the stalker has a drink.

Here I am colouring in some parts, to make the storyboard eye catching.

A close up of me lining the border of the storyboard, to seperate each section.

Images That Inspired Me

I researched these images and they have inspired me on how to construct a film clip.
